Asheville Hardware Opens Downtown
Asheville area residents now have an outlet for finding their specialized woodworking and home improvement tools with the September 1 Grand Opening of Asheville Hardware on Biltmore Avenue.

Tom and Rebecca Gholson, who have lived in Asheville for the past 11 years, opened Asheville Hardware after extensively renovating the former Mike Byer Auto & Truck Repair building at 91 Biltmore Avenue. Their store features products from the best woodworking tool lines in the world – Festool, Lie-Nielsen, Robert Sorby, Sawstop and more.

The Gholsons have built Asheville Hardware in the art deco design style that has helped make Asheville one of the most distinctive cities in the country. Making the store unique will be the woodworking classes that will be taught onsite beginning in the spring of 2008 at The Asheville Woodworking School.

For more information on the store and on woodworking classes, please email Rebecca Gholson at rebeccagholson@ashevillehardware.com.

Asheville Hardware: Woodworker’s Paradise
Asheville Hardware does carry regular hardware products like hammers, screwdrivers and the like, but its bread and butter are the extensive offerings of specialty woodworking tools that cannot be found just anywhere.

The staff at Asheville Hardware is comprised of woodworking professionals. Tools and products from Festool, Panasonic, RIKON, Robert Sorby and Rockler are just some of the award-winning brands that are offered at Asheville Hardware.

Asheville Hardware also has a wide variety of unique slabs of local hardwood from Mountain Sawyers lumber and mill company in Western North Carolina. Mountain Sawyers cuts its lumber with a special band mill that produces 25% less material waste than traditional mills. The result is a higher quality piece of wood produced through a more environmentally friendly process.
