At Asheville Hardware, you will find all sorts of tools and products to help you with your home improvement needs. Although we do carry the usual hardware necessities, woodworking is at the heart of our business.
When we formed Asheville Hardware, we wanted our unique woodworking products combined with a friendly and knowledgeable staff to set us apart. That is why when you walk in our front door, our employees will be available to show you where to find products and to talk with you about how to best use them.
Several of our staff members at Asheville Hardware are graduates of the woodworking program at Haywood Community College. Since Haywood has been training woodworkers for 30 years, its graduates have a thorough knowledge of woodworking and the tools of the trade.

Here is a look at Asheville Hardware’s knowledgeable woodworking staff:
Tom and Rebecca Gholson – Tom and his wife, Rebecca, opened Asheville Hardware because of his misfortune finding specialized hardware equipment as general contractor for 15 years. Tom spent so much time and effort trying to find stainless steel fasteners, quality sandpaper and everything in between that he thought there had to be a better way. He and Rebecca have lived in Asheville for 11 years.
Will Annarino – Will was in law enforcement for 30 years and was the Asheville Police Chief for 10 years. He has been retired for three years and specializes in building all types of furniture in the Craftsman, Shaker and Rustic styles. Will, who is a lifelong Asheville resident, built his own house.
Kim Dryden – Kim holds two degrees from the Professional Crafts program at Haywood Community College – Ceramics and Woodworking. Her specialty is veneering, and she loves to make benches, stools and lamps. Kim has lived in Asheville for 10 years and is originally from Raleigh.
John Duncan – John holds a graduate degree in Architecture and was part of a design/build firm in Atlanta for 30 years. John’s areas of specialty are furniture design, cabinetry and large-scale construction. He has lived in Asheville for four years.
Jim Miller – Jim has lived in Asheville for 18 years and has an extensive background in the construction industry, including new homes as well as extensive remodeling. He attended the Woodworking program at Haywood Community College and specializes in arts and crafts-style furniture.
Austin Rhodes – Austin holds an Architecture degree from Clemson University. He is in his second year in the Woodworking program at Haywood Community College. Austin specializes in woodturning and has lived in Asheville for four years.
